Ethics, HIPAA & Mandated Reporting

Course Overview

Healthcare professionals are confronted with a range of ethical and regulatory issues in today's ever-changing practice environment. Doing what is right for the patient is often influenced and, at times, compromised by external factors including rules and regulations associated with third party payor systems and employer policies. When working for multiple companies, the challenge is compounded as application of policies and processes can vary between employers and work settings. Independent Contract Therapists and Therapists in Private Practice need to enter the workforce with a thorough understanding of these requirements and develop, adhere to and practice with an intrinsic set of standards that complies with State Practice Acts and Codes of Ethics established by their discipline's association.
