In November, we posted an article on our blog to bring pending fee schedule reductions to your attention. We want to remind you that the time to act starts now. Do not wait until the end of the year to let your voice be heard. CMS is offsetting increases to the Evaluation and Management (E/M) services provided by physicians by making reductions in other areas. Those reductions are expected to reduce payment for therapy services by 8 percent. The ongoing reductions are unsustainable for providers and the therapy profession.
DO NOT RELENT! Begin to act now, both by contacting congress and encouraging your patients to do the same. We have provided these links our prior posts and will continue to remind you and give you tools during this year until our voices have been heard.
Consider supporting APTA, AOTA, and ASHA, as these are the organizations fighting the legislative battle on your behalf.
APTA has great advocacy tools, which you can access and generate a pre-filled email in minutes which is designed to a patient action center but can be used as a constituent. You can access the template here
AOTA provides tip and tricks for advocacy efforts and links to contact you representatives which you can find here:
To get involved with ASHA’s advocacy efforts, use this link
Use the links below to find out who your representative is and how to contact him/her and let your voice be heard.
